MANY ways to help on a local, county, state and country level.
Thanks for all that you do!
The Blessing Box
James 2:15-17 ESV
"If a brother or sister is poorly clothed and lacking in daily food, and one of you says to them, "Go in peace, be warmed and filled," without giving them the things needed for the body, what good is that? So also faith by itself, if it does not have works, is dead."
We have a Blessing Box located in our church's parking lot. It is there to help those that may be struggling in meeting their families food supply in our community. Please consider donating any non-perishable items that you are led to give so that others may be blessed in return.
Thank you for sharing!
Christmas Cards for the Troops
320 Christmas cards were mailed in August to our military troops stationed overseas. Thanks to all that participated in making this happen. Our thoughts and our prayers are with each service member as they represent our nation on foreign soil.
CORNER TABLE MINISTRIES
This outreach mission project helps to provide items that are needed for the local soup kitchen in Newton. Weekly needs are posted in the church bulletin. We are also collecting items to distribute to the homeless folks in the area. Any items that you can purchase and donate would be appreciated.
GO YE Sunday
4th Sunday of every month. Bring loose change to donate. Children collect during worship service. Money is used in local missions for children, heating bills, groceries, etc. for those in need.
Maiden Elementary School
Collect your Box Tops for Education and My Reward Coke caps. Maiden Elementary School collects these and receives rewards for doing so. Just one easy way to dispose of those things that you normally throw away. The school has a trailer that they can collect your aluminum cans in so you don't have to send them to be recycled. Take those empty aluminum cans to the trailer parked in the American Legion parking lot.
Helping in the community can be easy and we're helping our neighborhood.
SHUT-IN PERSON/S OF THE MONTH
We have several shut-in's that could use a phone call or a card. Pick up the phone or send out a card to let them know they are being thought of.
Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind. This is the first and greatest commandment. And the second is like it: Love your neighbor as yourself. All the Law and the Prophets hang on these two commandments.
